Dress myself day
Where's Waldo
It is March, that means all of us Shurtleffs go to Moab for the Moab half marathon. Grandpa bill runs every year and each year one or some of us join him. This year it was Robyn who joined in. It has become a tradition we all look forward to. I started it unknowingly before Matt and I were even dating. Boy that sure was a good idea.
We always get out on a good hike and enjoy the red rocks. Priya spent half the hike in the kid carrier for the first time, in the past she is always in the Moby wrap. She liked the backpack. Mom hiked her up a really really big hill and she kept me going by saying, "giddy up horsey" I sure felt like a pack horse. It was lots of fun.
The whole trip was great. The only thing missing was Grandma Janet. She got sick and had to stay home, bummer, we sure missed her. Even though she didn't come she still sent a bunch of yummy food down for us all. Thanks Janet you are a great mom.
Has anyone found Waldo yet?

1st Ice Cream Cone
This was a hit. "I ceam cone" is one of Priya's new favorite treats. It took her a long time to get through that little bit of ice cream. It was messy also, Matt says that is how they are supposed to be.
A few words Priya used to describe her ice cream were: very good, yumm, licious (delicious), like it.
Chicago
Matt had an interview at the The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. So March 5th-7th We got to run away to Chicago for the weekend. Priya stayed home with Grandma Net.
Matt and I tried to see as much of Chicago as possible. We walked so many miles in three days our legs were about to melt by the time we got on our return flight.
We had fun exploring and finding great places to eat. The Indian food, yum. The public library is absolutely beautiful, with a great children's wing. I am sure Priya and I will go there often. The whole city was amazing.
Matt felt like his interview went well and it must have because we have since found out that he was accepted to the MFA program. Congratulations!
Baby Dolls
Priya has been crazy about baby dolls her whole life. She always keeps me posted on how her babies are feeling, happy, sad, crying. She kisses them and tells them "Its ok baby" when they are sad. She dances with them when they are happy. Changes their dopees (Priyas word for diaper), takes them on walks, and feeds them often. What a good little mommy.
Cinnamon Toast
Cinnamon Toast can be very messy when you try to eat the center first. This was the first time I handed a whole piece of toast to Priya without first breaking it up. She really wanted the good stuff in the middle. It was pretty entertaining to watch. This girl sure has a funny personality, I love it.
Mauck and Papa come to dinner
Grandma and Grandpa came for dinner and Family Home Evening. We had a delicious lasagna dinner. It was also fun to share our Family Home Evening with some of the wonderful people who taught us how important Family night is. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is very important in our home. We appreciate your examples. Priya usually picks the songs we sing, she picked the "ABC's and Sunbeam song." Of course we also sang Love at Home for Grandpa Bud.
Baking Treats!!!
Priya knows yummy treats come out of the Kitchen Aid mixer. As soon as I start mixing there is a little Priya girl by my side saying, "little bit on my finger mama. Taste some mama." She is also very good at helping measure and add ingredients . I think we have a little cook on our hands, or at least a great taste tester.

Painting!
It was the end of January and we found a forgotten Christmas present. The perfect find on a winter day. This kept us busy for hours. This was also during the "Oh boy" phase when everything exciting got an"Oh Boy!"

Dancing with Mauck Net and Papa Bud
She is quite the dancer. She is taking after her mom who danced and danced through her childhood.
Like I have said before, Priya has great grandparents. Thanks for all the love you give our little girl.

Snow day for Priya girl. She really liked falling forward into the snow.
Cristmas day
Merry Christmas 2009
We had a wonderful Christmas with our Shurtleff Family. Grandma Janet sure made some cute gifts for Priya, that lucky girl. Her elephant coat, beanie, and gloves have been the best. She also made the greatest quite book ever, thank you Grandma!
Best of all was all the time we got to spent with family. Priya sure loves all the wonderful people in her life and talks about them often.
Winter Days
What did we do on those cold winter days?
Relive Halloween in December. The "piller" costume from her first Halloween when her feet didn't even poke out the bottom.
Bundle up for a little fresh air. The baby stroller was a must, it could take us 15 minutes to make it to the corner with that thing.
Oh and lots of warm bath tubs, sometimes more than one a day.
